Chalk Hands is a post rock/screamo four piece from Brighton, UK, who got together only earlier this year but have already put together and released their debut EP, Burrows & Other Hideouts, via Future Void Records.
Drawing attention to their deeply expressive vocals which star over the heavy and intense post rocking soundscapes that delineate the sentimentality in the band's sound, Chalk Hands' self-characterization of their songs as "loud and sad" appears fitting and incredibly accurate.
Take for instance the rollercoaster of emotions that is the heavy and elegant second track on the EP, Arms which jumps out full of intensity and euphony, as well as purgative qualities, while it raises the expectations for this fairly new upcoming act's glowing future.
