I Labour and its ten songs emerge straight away not only as a notable comeback for the Johannesburg band, but also an exhibit of their technical skills, clever writing and deep emotionalism, establishing the new album as one of their most consistent ones yet, if not the finest.
With prominent sharp production and zealously performed on every level, the sincerity and straightforwardness in I Labour jumps out notably and beyond doubt, especially concerning Ashley De Beer’s stirring vocals which lead and guide the solid album, granting it much of its firmness and excitability.
