VHS Dream: So High

27.3.17

Coming off their debut LP, Departure, which was released last summer via Husky Recordings, So High is the latest single and video by the Australian shoegaze/dreampop duo, VHS Dream.

Without doubt the music video, courtesy of Stephanie Peters, captures the song's title and atmosphere quite accurately, while the music itself sounds as hazy and colorful as any original late eighties/nineties shoegazing classic. Being part of an album which is built on themes such as detachment, the song circles around loss and escapism, with its welcome additional darkness blending effortlessly in the cloudiness to result to a surreal melancholic charm and gentleness.
