Emma Ruth Rundle: Forever, As The Setting Son / The Distance

After the release of Marked For Death and the acclaim it fairly earned, Emma Ruth Rundle could have sit a few months out, but instead the artist embarks on a great deal of touring, first alongside Deafheavean and This Will Destroy You in the US, and later with Jaye Jayle and as a solo act in Europe, as well as releases new music.

After the song she released last week in benefit of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which is available for a dollar on her Bandcamp page, ERR announced an upcoming 6-song split EP with Sargent House labelmates, Jaye Jayle, titled The Time Between Us and opening track, The Distance, is the first track we get to listen off it.

In regard to the first song, ERR states: "Forever, As The Setting Son was written and recorded in a humble lo-fi setting in Los Angeles some years ago. Yes it's "Son" and yes it's noisy and emotional, all reasons why I couldn't bring myself to ever re-track this song. I find myself filled with grief these days, similar to that expressed in the song, over many of the issues we as humans, as tenants of the Earth, will face in the coming era. While I am unable to join the marches set to take place all over the U.S. on Saturday, I would like to offer this song and will be donating all the proceeds to Planned Parenthood. I have been grateful for them in my life, as a young woman, and hope that we can come together to preserve the future of such an important institution in this divisive time so that they may continue to provide care for people of all races, religions, sexes, countries of origin, all genders. Be excellent to each other."
