Based on Elizabeth Kolbert's novel, The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, the new album by Chicagoan-Baltimorean metal trio, Locrian, will be called Infinite Dissolution and it will be out July 24th via Relapse Records.
The album is produced by Greg Norman (Pelican, Russian Circles) and the first track off it, Heavy Water, has just surfaced. Black metal, industrial/experimental/noise ambience and atmospheric post rock, all in layers put together a dystopian landscape, based on Kolbert's novel about mass extinction, climate change and the rational anxieties those bring.
