Bleu Grave introduce their new record Galactic Gothland with Balboa, a warmly nostalgic track built around a classic post punk approach. Its bright melodic character and vintage production evoke the eighties without losing the song’s easygoing sense of happiness.
Inspired by Balboa Island and the Newport Beach Peninsula, the track attempts to capture the atmosphere of coastal California while acknowledging those affected by flooding in the area. Mastered to tape, Balboa carries an appropriately comfortable warmth, turning memory, place and affection into an inviting first glimpse of the impending record.
