Los Angeles outfit Anti-Spirit continue their grunge revivalist path with Cut Me Out, the first single from their forthcoming Sick Talk EP. Ben Koller of Converge, Mutoid Man and High on Fire gives the track an strong foundation, driving its shifts between nervous restraint and outright release.
The track steadily escalates in intensity without losing sight of its hook-driven core. Edgy verses wrap themselves around abrasive feedback and restless percussion before resolving into a growling vocal hook and a satisfyingly cathartic chorus.
Produced by Gabe Van, whose credits include Youth Code and Failure, Cut Me Out balances nineties heaviness with the sharper attack of contemporary noise rock and post hardcore. It is a forceful fresh statement from Sick Talk, due in January 2027, with two further singles set to arrive ahead of the EP.
