Terraformer: A V

Belgian post-metal veterans Terraformer demonstrate their immense physical presence on A V, a track that combines the scale of Neurosis-era heaviness with the direct urgency of post hardcore. Aggressive and purposeful, the band operate as a tightly connected unit, making every riff, rhythmic turn and atmospheric passage contribute to the same overwhelming force.

Formed in 2009, Terraformer initially established themselves as an instrumental outfit, shaping elaborate soundscapes from crushing guitars, twisted time signatures and ambient melody. Across four full length records, from The Sea Shaper in 2012 to Rebirth in 2022, their sound continued to expand, with the latter introducing vocals into their established framework. Their new Dunk! Records album, La Chute, develops their evolution in two distinct forms; one instrumental and one vocal.

A V still possesses enough detail and momentum to communicate without words.

Terraformer make music designed to fill a room. Heaviness becomes architecture, boasting a sound that is dense and finely constructed to withstand the full force of the band’s performance.
