Chicago noise rock duo mr.phylzzz, pronounced “Mr. Flies”, introduce their forthcoming album Fear the Lord with the new single Emma Draws a Dog. The record arrives September 4th, 2026 through Amphetamine Reptile Records, where the band remains one of the legendary label’s few currently active artists alongside The Melvins.
Vocalist and guitarist Clinton Jacob and drummer Danny Sein approach noise rock with dark humor and a gleeful disregard for convention. The new track captures that irreverence through a buoyant riff, playful vocal rhythms and an unusually immediate hook, taking a more absurdist approach than the genre's standards.
Behind its infectious surface lies a reflection on tedious employment, intolerable coworkers and the ability of creativity to survive oppressive circumstances.
"I think the best thing about mr.phylzzz is the fact that there are zero rules," states Jacob. "We write what seems cool to us and we disregard genre. Sometimes it's metal, sometimes it's pop, sometimes it's acoustic. The important thing is that it's fun for us. If it makes me laugh, I'll probably explore it. Thats what I love about this band, nothing is off the table."
