Arriving as part of Portland’s dark electronic underground, Human Hollow is the dark synthpop project of Austin McKee and Lucia Luna, formed in 2024.
Their latest single, Red Rover, channels industrial grit and synth-driven intensity into a powerful statement of defiance. Inspired by the familiar childhood chant, the track reimagines Red Rover as a confrontation, a challenge issued to those who seek to isolate, ridicule, or persecute anyone who dares to be different.
Layered with imagery of witch hunts, flames, and metamorphosis, the song traces a journey from victimhood to empowerment. Rather than fleeing from judgment and hostility, its protagonist embraces the fire, emerging stronger and ready to face their opposition head-on.
Propelled by throbbing basslines, abrasive textures, and an infectious dancefloor pulse, the track balances menace with liberation. The result is a dark and cathartic piece that transforms alienation into strength.
