Swiss duo ZART came together in 2024, and have just released their debut album Forced Recollection, a record that leans toward atmosphere and emotional depth rather than easy categorization. Written and recorded at home in 2025, the album carries a DIY mindset being completely self-produced, moving through shades of shoegaze, slowcore, dreampop, trip-hop, and nearby textures while sustaining a rich, enveloping mood throughout.
With Evil Father’s Hand, ZART reveal one of the album’s more shadowed corners. The track draws on their trip-hop leanings, unfolding with a slow, hypnotic pull that deepens its sense of intimacy and unease. Subtle nineties echoes surface along the way, reinforcing the song’s immersive, inward-looking atmosphere.
Forced Recollection is out via Oh, Sister Records, mixed by Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe) and mastered by Alan Douches. ZART are Svenja Künzler and Dominic Rubli.
