Tory Silver: Microwave

Pittsburgh’s Tory Silver moves with a light touch that still carries weight, pulling together garage rock and indie pop into something unforced and direct. Her new album In Through the Front with Lasers arrives May 29th, 2026 via Michi Tapes, a Pittsburgh cassette label closely tied to its local DIY community, and it's introduced with the single Microwave.

Microwave rests on jangly guitars and an easy sense of melody, tracing routines and small frustrations without overstating them. There’s a wistfulness to it, drawn out of everyday moments, giving the track a quiet staying power that feels close to an underground indie pop anthem.

Across the record, produced and engineered by Melina Duterte (Jay Som), that same balance holds. We are in for bright, immediate arrangements that sit alongside lyrics that carry a sharper edge, letting the emotional weight surface gradually.
