Burned House is the second single from the forthcoming debut album, Soft Rains Will Come by This House. The track features a striking spoken-word performance by legendary singer and poet G.W. Sok of the iconic post punk band The Ex. The lyrics follow a woman during her final breakfast as flames and falling debris consume her home, observing the familiar pieces of her life dissolve in an eerie, almost psychedelic calm.
The release also marks a strong continuation in the career of underground punk figure G.W. Sok, whose distinctive voice has resonated through his work with The Ex as well as his solo career and numerous collaborations with other musicians, alongside his involvement in theatre and spoken-word performances.
The accompanying music video, directed by band member Ignacio Córdoba, presents a model house that opens to reveal the band miniaturized inside its rooms. Each member performs as if summoning the fire itself, visually echoing the heat and intensity described in the lyrics. Blending bucolic landscapes, nostalgic footage, lo-fi aesthetics, and dry humour, the video mirrors the song’s surreal narrative in a playful yet haunting way.
