Following the success of their 2025 album Girls Gang, Berlin based act Dina Summer continue their upward climb in Europe’s dark electronic scene with their new track On The Road. For this release, they once again collaborate with Australian multi-instrumentalist Joshua Murphy (Crime & the City Solution). The result is a compelling electronic rock ballad that lives in the contrast, sounding dark and cool, and presenting a polished Berlin-style synth-based sound that meets the emotive character of rock music.
The song reflects on what it means to live without roots. The lyrics come across as freeing, almost transcendent, as the ever-changing road becomes a symbol for modern life itself, where uncertainty isn’t something to fear, but something that teaches and shapes you.
There’s also a clear nod to Jack Kerouac’s timeless classic, On the Road, echoing the same hunger for movement, exploration, and personal freedom that outlined the Beat Generation.
This time around, the band leans into a bolder reinterpretation of post punk’s core elements. Instead of abandoning the rhythmic, dance‑driven pulse that defined their earlier work, they stretch it outward, broadening the edges, darkening the palette, and letting a more shadow‑soaked atmosphere seep through every layer.
