Bringers of Disease: Sacred Heart of the Abyss

There’s a long history of extremity behind BRINGERS OF DISEASE, the Dayton, Ohio black/death metal band whose members have also played in Chrome Waves, Acheron, Usurper, and Acid Bath. After releasing a demo in 2010 and the Gospel of Pestilence EP in 2011, the band resurfaced years later with the 2025 EP March of the Burning Tower. Sulphur, their first full length album, is set for release on April 24, 2026 through Disorder Recordings.

Sacred Heart of the Abyss serves as the first glimpse of the record. The track channels the band’s ferocity into a dense and forceful blend of black and death metal, carried by massive instrumentation and focused, commanding vocals. The sound feels weighty and deliberate, steeped in darkness that mirrors the band’s bleak thematic direction. Thrash and hardcore accents sharpen the impact, giving the song a crushing momentum that underscores the intensity at the core of the band’s approach.
