Milwaukee dreampop outfit SSAANN are steadily establishing themselves as a refined force in the underground dreampop and shoegaze scene. Their new single, Above It, is a vivid reminder of their presence and their ability to craft an immersive, transportive atmosphere. The track arrives on the heels of their beautiful previous release, Wade, further cementing their momentum.
The band's own Melissa Simes mentions: "There's a particular equanimity I've longed to create in my life; a way to look past the silly drama, uncontrollable worries, or immutable past conflicts. I wrote this song as advice to comfort others, but I quickly realized that this piece is also a reminder for myself. Nothing lasts forever. Believe that the future is bright, a new horizon awaits you, and we are fully capable of lifting above it all."
