French dark punks Curtain are closing in on their next full length, and everything about it feels inevitable. The band are currently finalizing the album with Franck Amendola of Corpus Delicti stepping in as producer, a collaboration that reads like a powerful convergence. After having shared stages, a friendship forged between the two acts, and the pairing feels destined. The new record is set for release in early 2026, and the signs point toward something very much alive in the dark present.
Curtain's latest offering, Fire, dives straight into the pulse of the darkwave club, the sacred ground where goth bats gather to lose themselves, and briefly dump the weight of daylight.
The band sees Fire as a track that moves through the space where desire and destruction sit side by side, constantly pushing against each other.
They unfold: "The line is thin between the deep desire to be the best version of ourselves and the demons that sometimes haunt us.
"Torn between what we impose upon ourselves and what our inner freedom longs to express.
"An intimate fire consumes us — it warms us, yet sometimes it burns.
"The night world offers that space for letting go…
"The underground clubs are among those extravagant sanctuaries where souls and bodies are set free.
Singular places where bodies intertwine in fleshly, tormented, and vibrant mazes.
"Fire is the reflection of these clashing emotions. It is also a tribute to the underground Parisian venue the Caves Saint Sabin (where the clip was shot) and to the very famous dark and goth music parties organised there since 40 years by Thierry Boucanier, the king of the creatures of the Parisian nights."
The video was shot at a venue steeped in history and devotion to the dark arts, and the track stands as a tribute to the club, the culture, and the purgative powers of the night.
