Hailing from Norway, Batboner drape themselves in the familiar shadows of deathrock aesthetics, but mentally they’re operating somewhere else entirely with their new offering. This time, they look straight back to the primal source code of rock’n’roll excess, citing AC/DC as inspiration.
Entertain Us is Batboner’s crooked homage to Hells Bells, filtered through distortion and lived reality. It’s a song born from exhaustion, the kind that comes from being part of a trans community that is constantly demanded to perform and justify, only to be discarded by the same media machine that feeds on it.
Musically, it’s blunt-force rock’n’roll with grit and shimmer underneath. As unlikely as it sounds, the track takes Batboner closer to classic rock, as a vessel for trans burnout and defiance.
