SCUZZ: Leech

St. Louis instrumental outfit Scuzz arrive with Leech, a towering addition to their catalog of sludge-tinged, psych-soaked stoner rock and doom metal. Known for melding doom’s massive weight with a hallucinogenic edge, the band continue to refine their riff-centric approach into something quite feral.

Leech moves with a mid-tempo crawl, as its central riff trudges forward in a steady manner. A grime-coated heaviness overlays the track, all thick and sludgy, as the band interlinks all that weightiness with a streak of psychedelic melody that keeps the whole thing eerily memorable.

The track explores themes of emotional dependence, addiction, and the invisible pressures that wear us down, expressing that gradual erosion through its layered sound and recurring motifs.
