Trace Amount: Seeing God on the L Train

Trace Amount returns with Seeing God on the L Train, the latest single from the forthcoming album FLAGRANT, a record already shaping up to be a fierce and uncompromising statement.

The track features New Jersey rapper Fatboi Sharif, whose commanding vocals cut through a dense haze of industrial noise and rhythm. For this one, Trace Amount draws inspiration from the dark, experimental soundscapes of Mick Harris’ post–Napalm Death project Scorn, channeling the same ominous energy into a modern, dystopian form.

The accompanying music video transforms the experience into an interactive 'video game,' fully embracing the techno-apocalypse aesthetic that defines Trace Amount’s work. Set across familiar New York backdrops like TV Eye, House of Yes, and the Saint Vitus Bar, the visual feels like both a love letter to and a defense of the city’s underground culture. It was all designed by Trace Amount mastermind Brandon Gallagher.

The video is described by Gallagher as “a nice tour of north Brooklyn, hitting some iconic landmarks and defending them from robo-dogs trying to data farm inside our cultural hubs.
