Velatine: Oh See Me - The Siren

Velatine are back with a new song and a new vocalist, Holly Purnell. Longtime followers of the project will know that Velatine has worked with a range of vocalists, particularly over the last two years. While those changes brought excitement, it became clear that stability was needed for the project to achieve the long-term goal of consistent releases.

That turning point arrived through a chance encounter in a thrift shop, where Holly Purnell was discovered, a striking, musically gifted artist whose voice and presence fit seamlessly with Velatine’s gothic/darkwave vision. An impromptu audition at Creepy Hollow confirmed her drive, sealing the collaboration with the recording of The Siren. This moment marked the start of a vibrant creative partnership.

Their new release, Oh See Me – The Siren, finds Velatine fully immersed in their dark mode, crafting lush atmospherics, embracing bold vocal expression, and looking ahead with renewed purpose and excitement for the future.

Velatine mastermind, Loki Lokwood, describes the track in detail: "It’s a song to counteract the rise of the manosphere, I read too much news and was triggered by the effect these influencers are having targeting the adolescent, I’m fucking outraged. The Siren is the survivor, she's damaged, but as she finds her strength she paralyzes her predator to a life of misery and loneliness by the power she holds. She is the optimistic view, the other side is traumatic for those caught. The Siren can now shine light on this issue and help create awareness surrounding the early signs of coercive control. The Siren I hope, can be that heroic role model to help guide those who need a positive example to hold onto."
