Oklahoma noise rock outfit Chat Pile and Texas-born, Oklahoma-based guitarist Hayden Pedigo have teamed up for In The Earth Again, a collaborative album that bridges their seemingly disparate sonic worlds. Both rooted in rural America and drawn to the strange and surreal, their meeting in OKC’s underground art scene felt inevitable.
The album pushes each artist into new territory. Chat Pile lean into moodier textures, tape manipulation, and some of their most intimate lyrics to date. Pedigo, known for his serene fingerpicked style, channels a darker, metallic edge, transforming his signature sound into something haunting.
Chat Pile's Raygun Busch comments on latest reveal, Demon Time: "Speaking to Yeats’ widening gyre, things are falling apart. Bad to worse or painful move towards something better is anyone’s guess, but we are living through a difficult time. The cycle continues forever, though. This is one of the first songs we recorded for the new record and is the wellspring from which the rest of the lyrical ideas flow."
Pedigo adds: "This track feels like the gateway to the rest of the album. The calm before the storm. It might be my favorite track on the record just because it sets the tone so well. It’s eerie calm and you know something might be coming around the corner."
In the Earth Again is out October 31st, 2025 from Computer Students with support from The Flenser.
