Corpus Delicti: Room 36

Founded in Nice, France in 1992, Corpus Delicti became a defining force in the underground post punk and gothic rock scenes in the mid-nineties. Their discography, though concise, left a lasting impact. The debut album Twilight from 1993 became a cult favorite, followed by the brilliant Sylphes in 1994 and Obsessions in 1995. Despite disbanding in 1997, the band’s influence certainly endured.

In 2022, the original lineup reunited, introducing a new drummer. Their return was marked by the release of singles Chaos and A Fairy Lie, both carrying the band's signature atmospheric intensity. The live album From Dust to Light was a hearty documentation of Corpus Delicti's acclaimed stage presence.

Corpus Delicti prepare to unveil a new full length, Liminal, on November 28th, 2025. The lead single, Room 36, accompanied by a beautiful video, merges darkness in both sound and visual artistry. Featuring the work and presence of contemporary artist Jean-Luc Verna, who is also responsible for the album cover, the video brings forward a dark, visceral and all around surreal experience. It’s a bold blend of gothic tones and avant-garde visuals, creating a tenebrous realm where underground music and art reflect and intertwine.
