Montreal’s Carences bursts onto the undeground scene with their fierce debut single Lazare, a blistering reinterpretation of the Lazarus parable transformed into an uncompromising critique of extreme wealth disparity. The track, taken from their forthcoming album Violences, set to release in its entirety on November 14th, 2025, via Duprince Records, expresses the tension and urgency of a world marked by social divides.
Formed in 2023 by longtime friends and creative collaborators, including Frédéric Nogarède, known for his solo darkwave project Renonce, Carences channels a potent mix of punk and post hardcore ferocity. From their first offering thus far, their music cuts straight to the core of frustration and disillusionment.
Lazare stands out as a relentless soundtrack to social injustice. It’s not unlikely that Violences will deliver a vicious exploration of pain and resistance.
