Psychic Guilt returns in 2025 with a striking new incarnation. Amy Azucena is now joined by Griffin Campbell (Mind Prisoner, Nightsister), pushing the project into deeper, darker terrain.
Born in Reno in 2017, the band began as a minimalist experiment in cold electronics and ghostly vocals. Having relocated in Portland, the reformed duo fuses the spectral pull of dreampop with the bleak tension of post punk, as well as the allure of shoegaze, forging a sound which feels more human, yet, more haunted than ever.
Their latest track, Wither, marks a bold shift for Psychic Guilt. Amy’s vocals unravel quiet devastation, while Griffin’s brooding arrangements evoke echoes of more contemporary dark acts such as the Soft Kill and Fearing, together with the weight of atmospheric metal.
Psychic Guilt’s new EP, A Dark Dream, arrives late 2025, like an evolution in mood and chemistry, soaked in shimmer and shadow.
