Lawrence, KS-based post-metal band Drifter is set to release their new album, Grigori, on May 23rd, 2025. Known for their powerful live performances, they’ve built a strong reputation supporting acts like Godflesh, Pallbearer, Glassing, John Garcia of Kyuss, and many others. The first examples of their studio work are nothing short of excellent as well, delivering a dark, heavy sound reminiscent of Neurosis, rich with emotional depth and weight.
Grigori was recorded over a year and a half with Eric Graves (The Esoteric, Roman Numerals, Anakin) and features nine heavy tracks spanning 54 minutes of pure heaviness.
The Silence That Follows is the eight-minute heavy-hitter of a track, a burst of atmospheric sludge metal and post rock intensity which provides an accurate exhibition of what Drifter have to offer.
