Tilburg-Amsterdam post punk band, Docile Bodies, is set to release their debut album, Light Will Come Our Way, on October 11th, 2024, through à La Carte Records. The first single from the album is Yellow Flowers Bloom.
Light Will Come Our Way is a contemplative exploration of themes such as art, nature, and family. In their earlier works, the botanic landscape was predominantly used as a metaphor for despair and desolation, still, the new album is expected to mark a shift towards a more assured view of nature, though it stops short of fully embracing it. The album also goes into concepts of ancestry and descendants, focusing on restored family bonds, future generations, and family deaths.
Yellow Flowers Bloom carries a strong sense of melancholy and maintains a sharp tone throughout, serving as an introduction to an album which promises to be intriguing on multiple levels, and is expected to excite with both its sound and its thought-provoking concepts.
