Whitelands: Tell Me About It

Tell Me About It is the new single from Whitelands featuring Dottie from the band's labelmates deary on guest vocals. The track is part of Whitelands' much anticipated debut album, Night-bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day, coming out on February 23rd, 2024 via Sonic Cathedral. Whitelands will be supporting Slowdive on their UK tour in February 2024.

It’s about being lost with the aspect of love,” Whitelands vocalist Etienne comments on Tell Me About It. “It’s about dealing with break-ups, not in the sense of missing a relationship or a person, but ‘am I doing this right?’. It seems loving while being neurodivergent (ADHD) doesn’t follow the same rules, because I tend to fall in love with other neurodivergent people.

I was intrigued to immerse myself into someone else’s art,” adds Dottie. “I love how sweet the two vocals sound together, especially when the lyrics have a soft sadness to them.

For the track, the band cites inspiration from Slowdive and DIIV, as well as Wong Kar-wai’s 1995 film Fallen Angels. “It talks about a dream partner and the feelings they’d make you feel,” explains Etienne. “I think everyone has an idea of the type of person they’d see themselves with forever.” The song's accompanying video is also inspired by the film, and was shot in Tokyo by Charlotte Whiteside with additional footage and editing by Chris Tomsett aka Innerstrings.
