Experimental metal duo, Ragana, has recently joined the lineup of The Flenser and is gearing up for the release of their forthcoming album, Desolation's Flower, scheduled to arrive on October 27th, 2023. They have also unveiled the opening track for Side B, DTA, an abbreviation for 'Death To America.'
Starting with a curious whisper and climaxing into a mournful scream, the track adeptly amalgamates the tumultuous ambiance reminiscent of an Oakland street protest, underlining its relevance to the current times. Musically, DTA is melodic as much as it is edgy and bleak, with the band tackling a deep subject in an artful manner.
Throughout the entire album, the theme of death serves as a profound source of inspiration, with the band exploring various dimensions of it. “Death is a new beginning, just a word to inspire a different vision of a future,” Ragana comments.
