Lauren Lakis: TAKE MY HAND

TAKE MY HAND, the new single and video from Austin based shoegaze dark rocker, Lauren Lakis, follows her album, Daughter Language, from 2021. The new song possesses a rather gloomy and menacing tone, putting to good use a more repetitive songwriting approach, and delivering a deeply felt message.

Lakis says that the single is about "forgetting what you thought you knew, letting go, bravely opening your mind to something radically different." She goes on to ask: "what if you were wrong? Are you able to admit it? Can you shift with the ever-changing landscape of reality, or are you stuck in your ways? I found myself stepping into the unknown in many ways the past few years, forced to entertain the notion that maybe I didn't know everything, and in that I found freedom.

The new track is part of Lauren Lakis' upcoming album, A Fiesta and a Hell, recorded in Austin, TX, produced by Carey McGraw (Wild Child, Josie Lockhart), mixed by Elliott Frazier (Ringo Deathstarr, Blushing), and mastered by Christopher Colbert (Mazzy Star, Starflyer 59, Leon Bridges). A Fiesta and a Hell will be released Fall 2023 through Green Witch Recordings.
