Distressor: Hollow

Distressor, a San Diego, California-based shoegaze band, have released two new tracks that follow their EP, Away, from late 2019. The band's sound is clearly rooted in the grimmer side of shoegaze, and comes all heavy in reverb and guitar-driven.

Hollow is "a song written in response to losing a childhood friend to an early death." according to the band.

In order to express the hurt and empty void connected with the passing of a loved one, the band makes really good use of poignant and atmospheric guitar-led passages which are fused with layered vocals, and sentimental and heavy harmonies.

Distressor are Cory Kurkierewicz (guitar, vocals), Ricardo Alva (lead guitar), Jon Gulliksen (bass) and Alex Meza (drums).
