Faetooth: Echolalia

Echolalia is the first single and opening track of their upcoming debut album, Remnants of the Vessel, by Faetooth, a four-piece doom metal band based in Los Angeles, California. The full length is set to be released on October 28th, 2022 through the always great Los Angeles label Dune Altar.

Echolalia is special to the band because it was the first song they wrote after the release of their debut EP ...An Invocation which came out in 2019. The song demonstrates Faetooth's dexterous compositional ability, and their natural skill to transition from roaring to somber. This fluidity in the song's character is rooted in a simple and foreboding riff, and an overarching sense of extreme heaviness, beautifully enhanced by the group's passionate execution. Echolalia's lyrical references to the mythology of the Tower of Babylon round out an exquisite listen with an intriguing concept.

Faetooth are a queer-identifying band, with all members under the age of 25, and of Latino descent. The band is composed of Ashla Chavez Razzano(guitar, vocals), Jenna Garcia (bass, vocals), Ari May (guitar, vocals), and Rah Kanan (drums).
