Swedish band Orochen has been generating excitement for their next album, Anthroposcenic, which is a reasonable musical progression from their excellent EP, Thylacine, from 2020, exploring new ground while preserving the band's evolving characteristics.
Gathering Storms lives up to its title, as it is one of the band's most thundering and explosive offerings, based on powerful guitar riffs which spiral into a gloomy and all around turbulent crescendo.
"The song handles the subject of being fully aware of what needs to be done, but unable to act accordingly," Orochen describe.
Gathering Storms features Jonas Stålhammar (At The Gates, Lurking Fear, ex-Crippled Black Phoenix) on mellotron.
