With a grittier, heavier and grungier take on shoegaze rock, Jackson, Mississippi-based five-piece, Kicking, released their new EP, Goodbye Party, through Harness Records (UK) and Candlepin Records (US).
There are increasingly conspicuous pop sensibilities in single Flowers with the band delivering a very committed performance, approaching the edges of doom bent dark rock coupled with the raw energy of punk, as the recording's boldness creates the sense of a continuously engaging live act.
Goodbye Party was mixed and mastered by Torche guitarist Jonathan Nunez, and it's a standout example of Kicking's frankness and intensity.
