Brooklyn-based post punk band, Catcher, have been carving a rising route as one of the genre's brightest new hopefuls since their formation in 2021. Their sound is dark and fierce, often reminiscent of top contemporaries such as Iceage and Protomartyr, as well as the heavier side of veterans like Killing Joke.
The Fat Of A Broken Heart, the band's debut album, has recently been released to favorable early reception, having been preceded by a string of singles, from which, the ultra heavy slow burner Fallen Stones, has emerged as a fan favorite.
Catcher has also established a strong early reputation for their live presence, with several sold-out performances, and they're about to embark on their first headlining US tour with fellow NYC band Been Stellar. They've also been added to the official SXSW program (March 11-20, 2022 in Austin, TX), as well as the New Colossus Festival roster (March 9-13th, 2022 in New York City).
