Desert Liminal: Rainbow Sherbet Sky

From Chicago, experimental art pop trio, Desert Liminal, prepare for the release of their next full length, Glass Fate, arriving in November 2021 through Whited Sepulchre Records. From the first couple of examples thus far, the band's new material appears more realized and consummated than ever, and shows an artful direction which balances well between hazy dreampop, lo fi pop and moody atmospherics.

"A hazy breakup song for summer that has a lullaby effect," creative force Sarah Jane Quillin comments on Desert Liminal's newest single, Rainbow Sherbet Sky. "I wrote this song after loving someone who clouded their selfish actions under the guise of a hip, modern-sounding open relationship." The track comes with a nice DIY clip created by Kacie Lees, showcasing the warmth and love amidst the band's ranks, together with beautiful scenery, all in VHS aesthetic.

The lineup of Desert Liminal is rounded out by drummer Rob Logan, and violinist and noise artist Mallory Linehan.

It looks like the beginning of major breakthrough for the band, occurring in their own terms, as they keep their tendency for experimentation and dexterity to the front, while at the same time achieve a sound that's both fathomable and cultivated.
