Tongues Of Fire: Room

Fresh post punk band from North Carolina, Tongues of Fire, announce their new EP, Burn My Body Clean, due out August 27th, 2021 via Godless America. Room is the first single and video off it, a hefty track written by the band's own singer and guitarist, Lowell Hobbs, following his mother’s untimely passing to cancer.

"Believe it or not the song was written pre-pandemic," Hobbs says about the track which he composed during a time of depressive segregation. "It was super cathartic to be able to express those feelings and it’s also kind of beautiful in a way that my very personal singular experience became a collective one because of COVID too."

Burn My Body Clean follows the group's debut album, Everyone Hates Us, from 2019, and it finds the band at their most instinctive, with each song representing the five stages of the grieving process.

The concise rocker Room, leans heavily on a noise rock/grunge sound and mindset, and its accompanying visual is of correspondingly gritty aesthetics, composed of live footage pulled from Tongues of Fire’s first indoor show post-pandemic, at The Grey Eagle in their hometown of Asheville.
