From Hastings, UK, genre mixing act, Broken Suns, deliver a dark variant on post rock with a heavy direction, and an interesting style of instrumentation, utilizing vintage synths and old electronic equipment.
The band have just released their first EP, The Past Devours the Future, on which they lay out a more intricate tactic of of experimental composition by way of dark electronica combined with weightier, extremer takes on post metal, doom and shoegaze. Centerpiece, Bend Like a Reed in the Wind, strikes as an amalgamation of 65daysofstatic, Rosetta and Red Sparowes; a very dynamic instrumental whose strong textures and vocal samplings contribute to its generally engaging build.
The EP was mastered by the acclaimed dark ambient composer, Rafael Anton Irisarri, and carries the artwork/logo design by, Barnbrook, known for David Bowie's Next Day and Blackstar logos.
