Originally from Sweden, Leonard Kaage has been mostly know as the guitar player and producer of the post punk band, The Underground Youth, as well as through his work with Jawbones, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Kristof Hahn (Swans) and Holy Motors. He now leads the Berlin-based band, Errorr, whose debut single, Smash Hit, was just released through Anomic Records, suggesting something really promising.
With noise rock and post punk as the main ingredients, the trio go through many different aspects of alternative rock to come forth with their fuzzy and lively sound which doesn't take much to cut through. The song's pop sensibility and its underground rock grit even up quite effectively, and result to a stable and appealing first offering, which is also very well matched to the aesthetics of its monochrome accompanying clip.
More singles are expected from Errorr in the following months.
