bdrmm: Happy

After a considerable run of very convincing and appealing singles, bdrmm are finally coming through with a debut album, expected out later in 2020, produced by Alex Greaves (Working Mens Club, Bo Ningen) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Slowdive, Beach House).

The gazey and rather longing Happy is our first encounter with the upcoming LP's eloquence, and although it shows incredible progress for the band's sounds, it's heartening to know that it is actually one of the first songs they ever wrote. Its spotless production goes well the auspicious group's impassioned delivery, in what overall seems like bdrmm's finest piece thus far.

"Happy holds a special place in my heart and we never will tire of playing it," says frontman Ryan Smith. "It all stems from that realisation in a break-up that you’re over the worst of it, you can move on, and you can wish the other well. Resentment is toxic, this is about letting go."

bdrmm's long awaited first full length will be out on the steadily great Sonic Cathedral.
