Hilary Woods: Orange Tree

Orange Tree becomes the second offering from Hilary Woods’ upcoming album, Birthmarks, following the stellar first single and video, Tongues Of Wild Boar. This time with a more gothic folk approach, the new song finds the artist diving deeper into the existential worriment that’s taken over her songwriting, particularly on this upcoming album which she recorded while pregnant.

Orange Tree’s weightiness comes with a correspondingly moody visual directed and conceived by Woods herself with the help of Joshua Wright. Woods calls the track “a personal song acknowledging an inner fear of the unknown. It’s an exercise in overcoming, becoming more planted and rooted in the earth and in the body.

Birthmarks comes out March 13th, 2020 on Sacred Bones.
