Basement Revolver: Wax and Digital

Introducing the opening self-titled track off their upcoming Wax and Digital EP, Ontario shoegazers, Basement Revolver return quite effectively. pairing their memorable shoegaze sound with an equally impressive, colorful clip, directed by Andrew Friesen.

Fuzzy and hazy, and wistful to the bone, the new song follows the band's well received album, Heavy Eyes, from last year, and appears like a solid step toward those classic shoegaze tropes on which the Canadian group thrives. A beautiful, soft vocal, some noisy guitars and a propulsive beat make up one of Basement Revolver's strongest offerings to date, matched to a clip which would ooze out dreampop and shoegaze colorfulness, even if the sound was off.

Since the previous album's release, guitarist and vocalist Chrisy Hurn, bassist Nimal Agalawatte, and drummer Brandon Munro have enriched their lineup with a second guitarist, Jonathan Malström, and keep advancing as one of the genre's strongest hopefuls.

Wax and Digital EP comes out October 18th, 2019.
