Drab Majesty: Ellipsis

After a couple of great records, trailblaizing synthpop act, Drab Majesty are preparing for the release of what is promised to be their most ambitious album yet. Modern Mirror will be released on July 12th, 2019 via Dais Records, and with its announcement come a brand new track and video, and the band's upcoming tour schedule.

Ellipsis is a brilliant synthpop piece, themed on the "concept of courting through modern technology in a world that has yet to adapt." More forceful than ever, Drab Majesty bring to fruition their impeccable mix of sharp new wave sounds, traditional storytelling, and out of this world, sci-fi aesthetics.

Written in Athens, Greece where Deb Demure and Mona D resided to draw inspiration for their new work, Modern Mirror is a contemporary reinterpretation of the archaic story of Ovid's Narcissus, with each song narrating a piece of the timeless story. The album was produced by Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv) and mastered by Dave Cooley, and includes appearances by Jasamine White-Gluz (No Joy) and Justin Meldal-Johnson (NIN, Beck, M83, Air). The superb video for Ellipsis was directed by Thomas McMahan.
