Night School: July

Having shared the stage with acts such as Best Coast, Whirr and Creepoid, and having already released an EP of their own, one with labelmates, Dott, and a wonderful debut album, California's Night School should not need much of an introduction.

After some lineup changes, the dreampop trio is ready with a new record, Disappear Here, scheduled to come out on April 5th, 2019 on Graveface Records, followed by a small US West Coast tour. The album was recorded with Nick Bassett (Whirr, Nothing, Death Of Lovers, Deafheaven, Cloakroom) in Oakland between 2017 and 2018, and it is composed of songs written and sung by Alexandra Morte and Cheyenne Avant. The band's roster completes Cara Millar who replaced previous drummer and vocalist, Baylie Jimenez.

As it is evidently expressed through first single, July, on this one Night School aim for a more psychedelic sound that feels more organic that ever.

"We wanted to move away from the doo-wop and 60s influences towards a cleaner more refined sound of our own," they state.

July inherently evokes feelings of confidence, trust and hope, as the song was written as a message of empowerment to Alexandra Morte's 12 year-old daughter.
