KEN mode: Doesn't Feel Pain Like He Should

KEN mode return with their seventh full length album, expected on August 31st, 2018 via Season Of Mist. Loved is promised to be their darkest work to date, and by the first looks of the album's cover, the rather intense video and aggressive hardcore sound of first single and opening track, Doesn't Feel Pain Like He Should, the darkness is evident, and it feels safe to say that the band have come up with something really bleak.

Frontman Jesse Matthewson has a very interesting statement to share about the upcoming album: "We wanted to make an album that represented a thinking person’s reaction to the political/technological climate we are existing in today. We wanted to make the perfect album to put on repeat while pushing your physical limits to their maximum, if only to silence the noise that is constantly whirring around inside of your own head, even for a brief moment. We wanted tones that bash and cut, and for you to feel that desperate part of yourself clawing for a way out. And then, just when things are at their most bleak, you start to focus on what’s actually being said, and you’ll see the humour in absolutely everything that is transpiring before you. THAT is Loved."

The initials in KEN mode stand for Kill Everyone Now, and on this one the band carry their name like they mean it. Throughout the years they have collaborated with the best producers (Kurt Ballou, Matt Bayles, Steve Albini), magnetized audiences with their ferocious live presence, and come up with a series of incredible records, still, they have managed to stay among the most criminally underappreciated acts in heavy rock. Loved emerges like fury, and it seems to have the capacity of having that changed.
