Newcastle four-piece, Luxury, is a post punk band whose sound evokes plenty of images and emotions, but which by any means cannot be considered luxurious. Instead, the band offers a great deal of rawness and hardcore/punk rocking edginess, aptly demonstrated through their new double A-side single, Blue Wates/Two Swans.
Drawing parallels to both the genre's rich past and dynamic present, and naturally leaning to both the darkness of Joy Division and the audacity of Iceage, Luxury amalgamate their natural post punk grit with elegant DIY aesthetics in sounds and notions that deal with their discontent against consumerism and the blandness of life in the modern, dull and colorless world, much like the single's simple and grabbing cover art.
