Collapsian: At The Left Hand Of The Sun

Collapsian are a four piece metal band from Phoenix, AZ, that plays a well infused style of metal which draws influences from sludge, black-metal, doom, psychedelic and progressive rock. Their debut album At The Left Hand Of The Sun was written, recorded, and mixed by the band, while mastering duties were handled by Brad Boatright (Sleep, All Pigs Must Die, Nails, High on Fire). The artwork was done by Dr.Winter with additional logo design by logo artist Christophe Szpajdel (Emperor, Nachtmystium, Wolves in the Throne Room).

At The Left Hand Of The Sun is an exact 45-minute roller coaster of mood changes and contrasting feelings, through some very well executed blackened progressive death metal. The most thrilling part about is not how well composed and produced this album is or how it respectably draws from its influences to create something totally raw and new, but that it’s a genre bending work that keeps the listener at the edge of their seat throughout the whole listening experience, twisting their minds and pushing them to the grimmest parts of their thoughts, using even ambient bits, noise and samplings to add more to the whole discomfort. In other words the intensity and the stimulating uneasiness it causes to its audience are what make At The Left Hand Of The Sun a highly recommended listen. If you’re looking for some brutal, dark and forceful like hell metal music to score your nightmares, Collapsian would be just about the right choice for you.

At The Left Hand Of The Sun is already up on the band’s Bandcamp available as digital download as well as physical CDs. A future release on vinyl is also possible if there is a demand for it.
