FEWS: Get Out

Dark noise punk, FEWS, are a Swedish, English, and American four-piece currently based in Malmö, Sweden. After releasing early demos of their gritty fusion of post punk, noise rock and shoegaze sounds, FEWS developed into a fully grown band, and worked with producer Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C.) on a run of singles before putting out their acclaimed debut album, Means, in 2016.

Having previously performed on stages with Pixies, Crack Cloud, and DIIV, the group is getting ready to release their third album Glass City on April 14th, 2023, via the Swedish record label Welfare Sounds & Records.

A persistent and unnerving synth cycle supports the band's boisterous new single Get Out. On his first visit to Malmö, bassist Jay Clifton felt isolated in a way that he desired to scream into nothingness in order to keep from going insane, and this feeling is what's mostly reflected in the song, with the guitar melodies perfectly capturing Clifton's inward anxiety. The band's epigram was "punky and simple," and their goal with the song was to produce something uncomplicated, yet, poignant.
