OSSIFER are a fresh doom/post metal trio from Austin, Texas. The band are expected to release their first album in the near future, and emerge with their first single, Fumes, a heavy and dark number which introduces their sound and intent.
The members of OSSIFER lift inspiration from a wide range of musical style and genres, while from the first specimens of their craft, doom metal, sludge, progressive, and psychedelic rock elements seem to be defining the groundwork on which the band's sound builds.
The foundation of Fumes is a combination of deep psychedelic grooves, vibrant, convoluted melodies and intricate rhythms, as well as ominous soundscapes. The nearly seven-minute song is adeptly executed, and it provides a wonderful introduction to the group.
