Devin Sarno: Sound Study Nine (f/ Leah P)

Sound Study Nine is the ninth installment in Devin Sarno's continuous series of file exchange works with different artists. This new piece includes harsh noise artist, Leah P, from Los Angeles, who has released solo music on Oxen Records.

Sound Study Nine encompasses the delicate and the ethereal, as does the rest of Sarno's remarkable body of work, by being an enticing piece of unconventional ambience, well-constructed noise, and all-around meditative qualities. Sound Study Nine achieves immersion and dazzles the listener through its beautiful, droning atmosphere and embellishing glitches out of which Sarno is making the most.

Devin Sarno first recorded and performed as CRIB in 1990 as a solo bass sound project centering on improvisational subsonics. During the last few years he's been releasing music under his own name, and throughout a very productive career he has collaborated with an impressive list of artists such as: Thurston Moore, Nels Cline, Vincent Gallo, Joe Baiza, Mike Watt, Charles Gayle, Z’EV, Foetus, Lydia Lunch, Merzbow, Borbetomagus, G.E. Stinson, Blonde Redhead, Pauline Oliveros, Masonna, Ben Harper, Ken Vandermark, Petra Haden, Gus Gus, William Hooker, Kato Hideki, Carla Bozulich, White Out, Ang Wilson, Randy Randall, Tim Biskup, Elaine Carey, The Flaming Lips, and many others.
